Emphase Industrial EX - S3 SATA Flash Module 8 GB

The Emphase S3 series direct-plug SATA flash module is an innovative solid state device that features a locking connector, which enhances reliability during data transfer. It is a high-performance, flash module that plugs directly into a SATA connector to act as a hard drive. It is small enough to not interfere with other onboard connectors and it is low-profile enough to not create height restrictions for system enclosures. And, it has a built-in power VCC pin, so it can be installed directly to the SATA connector without the need for an additional power cable (this option is only functional on mainboards that support this feature).

With no moving parts, wide temperature range, and R/W endurance of 2,000,000 times, the S3 series increases the range of environments and climate conditions your system can withstand. The wear-leveling algorithm extends the module's lifetime and performance by evenly spreading the media usage across all pages in the flash. Also, the S3 supports most operating systems, including Windows Embedded Standard and Linux.

Emphase flash memory uses single-level cell (SLC) chips. SLC chips offer superior durability, energy efficiency, and performance over consumer-based flash memory using multi-level cell (MLC) chips. Read more here.
